Mail or Telephone Order Rule
- A Federal Trade Commission rule requiring a seller to ship goods ordered by mail, telephone, computer or fax to the buyer within the time promised or, if no time has been stated, within 30 days. If the seller cannot ship within that period, the seller must send the buyer notification of a new shipping date and give the buyer the option of canceling the order and obtaining a refund.
